NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING

Governor’s Committee on Employment and Rehabilitation of People with Disabilities to meet in Juneau, AK

March 10 – 12, 2009

The Governor’s Committee on Employment and Rehabilitation of People with Disabilities will hold its quarterly meeting in Juneau, AK, March 10, 2009 at the Wild Meadow Building in the Glacier Conference Room on the 3rd floor located at 10002 Glacier Highway and on March 11 - 12 at the Goldbelt Building’s first floor Auxiliary Board Room, located at 801 W. 10th Street, Juneau, AK

The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. on March 10, 2009. Public testimony will be heard on the same day from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Written or faxed testimony will also be accepted. Please fax to Carol Stephens at 907-465-2856. Sign language interpreters will be available. Individuals residing outside of Juneau who would like to participate in public testimony may call 1-888-354-0094, when prompted enter the conference code number 2179208 followed by the # sign.

The meetings will continue in the Auxiliary Board Room in the Goldbelt Building, starting at 8:30 a.m. March 11 – 12.

A Public Forum for Juneau agencies and residents, regarding Vocational Rehabilitation services will be held March 11th from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Auxiliary Board Room.

The Governor’s Committee promotes employment and rehabilitation of people with disabilities by creating statewide interest in disability issues, encouraging cooperation among individuals, public agencies, private organizations, and businesses in obtaining assistance for, and education about, people with disabilities.
