COVER LETTER
In your cover letter located on the Job Qualification Summary, you must highlight your knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience as they pertain to the key responsibilities and desired traits listed in the job description above. In addition, your application package will be reviewed to determine if you possess the experience and strengths we are seeking in an employee.
Your cover letter will be considered a writing sample and will be used to determine which applicants will advance to the interview phase of the recruitment and selection process.
WORK EXPERIENCE
If using work experience not already documented in your Applicant Profile, also provide the employer name, your job title, dates of employment and whether full- or part-time. Applicant Profiles and Job Qualification Summaries will be reviewed to determine if the minimum qualifications are clearly met. If they are not, the applicant may not advance to the interview and selection phase of the recruitment.
EDUCATION
If post-secondary education is required to meet the minimum qualifications, you must fill in the Education and Training section of the Applicant Profile. If you have not obtained a degree, please indicate the number of credit hours earned in the Degrees Obtained field. Copies of transcripts will be required at the time of interview.
MULTIPLE VACANCIES
This recruitment may be used for more than one vacancy. The applicant pool acquired during this recruitment may be used for future vacancies for up to ninety days after this recruitment closes. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply to each recruitment notice to ensure consideration for all vacancies.
CONFIRMATION PAGE
If you have successfully submitted your application online, a confirmation page will appear, telling you the date and time your application was submitted, and a confirmation email will be sent to you. If you do not see a confirmation page, or if you do not receive a confirmation email within a half hour after submitting your application, call the Division of Personnel to confirm that it was received successfully. Do make sure that you have the correct email address in your Applicant Profile, and that your spam filter will permit email from the ‘state.ak.us’ and ‘alaska.gov’ domains.

Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the above requirements. You must show that the education credentials have been submitted to a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign educational credentials and that such education has been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education programs; or an accredited U.S. state university reports the other institution as one whose transcript is given full value, or full value is given in subject areas applicable to the curricula at the state university. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
At the time of interview, applicants using education to meet the minimum qualifications of the position must submit a copy of their college transcripts (unofficial transcripts are acceptable).
